The Kerberos 5 authentication in sudo has been re-vamped. If possible, please see if this is still a problem with the current release (which is 1.6.9p14 at this time). No additional feedback from submitter. |
I have compiled sudo to use Kerberos 5 authentication, and not to use local passwords. I noticed that after I enter my Kerberos password and sudo is looking up the SRV records to find the KDC each of the queries are done twice immediately, _kerberos._udp.ncac.gwu.edu. _kerberos._tcp.ncac.gwu.edu. When I use kinit, I don't see the same behavior, it only performs each query once. I can't see any reason that the queries should need to be done twice.
