Bug 52

Summary: Typos and inconsistencies in sudoers(5) manual page
Product: Sudo Reporter: era+sudo
Component: SudoAssignee: Todd C. Miller <Todd.Miller>
Status: RESOLVED FIXED
Severity: normal
Priority: normal
Version: 1.6.0
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux

Description era+sudo 2001-10-22 23:54:19 MDT
The EBNF definition of Alias is IMHO wrong. Or do I misinterpret it? The section
which says

    Alias ::= 'User_Alias' = User_Alias (':' User_Alias )* |
    ...

has what I think is a gratuitous equals sign. The literal equals sign in the
actual User_Alias definition is included in the EBNF for User_Alias (and the
other aliases, respectively) and, as far as I've been able to grok the doc, does
not have any meaning of its own in EBNF itself.

Feel free to whack me if this is misdirected.

Oh, also, the word "semicolon" is used to refer to the character which is
technically known as "colon" (semicolon is ';', colon is ':'). (This is just
after the part which says "A NAME must start with an upper case letter".)

Hope this helps,
