In the pot file of sudoers version 1.8.6b4, there is a string "unable to setup authentication". I suppose that "set up" is meant here, as is in most computer related cases. This is in the file plugins/sudoers/auth/bsdauth.c:101.
In version 1.8.8b1 it is not resolved yet.

I've just committed a change to remove the use of "setup" as a verb.
