patch for boottime.c to close FD leak

This is a small patch to fix a file descriptor leak boottime.c that was introduced by the patch for http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2013-1775

This patch was developed against 1.7.2p1, but should apply cleanly against the current state of the maintenance branch.
